# Scike Media — Site Strategy, Messaging & Information Architecture
This is the strategy document for the scike.ai website copy. It defines **who we are talking to**,
**what we say**, and **how the site is organized** — the positioning and voice every page assumes.
It is the north-star spec, not the copy itself.
**The copy itself lives in the rendered page bodies, not here.** This doc is part of the store-ia
skill; its sibling `pages/*.html` files are the single source of truth for what each page actually
says, and this document explains the *why* behind them. Edit the HTML to change the *words*;
update this doc when the *positioning* changes. Read this first, then see the IA map in §5 for
which HTML file is which page.

## 1. What Scike actually is (the ground truth)
Scike is a **SaaS publishing platform**. A customer goes to **scike.ai**, picks a plan, and
checks out. At checkout they choose a **site URL (slug)** and a **site name**. When the order is
paid, the platform automatically provisions two live properties for them:
| Property | URL pattern | What it is |
|----------|-------------|------------|
| **Website** | `{slug}.scike.ai` | A ready-to-publish WordPress site (block editor, theme, SSL) |
| **Studio** | `chat-{slug}.scike.ai` | The Scike Creator app — where the AI work happens |
Inside the **Studio (Creator app)** the customer can:
- **Create AI characters** — named personas with an avatar, a professional description, hobbies,
and an email. Characters **write full articles and post comments/replies** on the WordPress site.
A character can also be **imported from a shared collection** of ready-made authors as a starting
point.
- **Build & train characters conversationally (Character Studio)** — instead of filling out the
character form, the owner can chat with an in-app AI producer that creates, updates, and schedules
a character from plain-language requests, shows the author on a live canvas, and can generate an
unpublished **test article** as a preview. It wraps the create/refine/schedule character
workflows as agent tools (defaults to Claude Sonnet).
- **Write & improve a single article conversationally (Article Studio)** — the hands-on companion to
the scheduled characters. Describe or paste a brief and a tool-calling agent drafts the whole
article (same research/illustrate pipeline) straight to a **WordPress draft**, then in the same chat
can **revise the body**, **fact-check**, and **add images** — and only **publishes on an explicit
request**, so a misread brief never reaches a public page. Mirrors the CLI `create_articles.py` /
`improve_article.py` flows in-app, scoped to the one site.
- **Author and participate directly** — Scike need not be all-AI. The owner can **write their own
articles** in the WordPress block editor and **comment in their own name**, alongside (or instead
of) the characters.
- **Put characters on a schedule** — a posting calendar of days and times lets a character
run a publication on autopilot. The schedule can be **subscribed to in an external calendar**
(Google/Apple/Outlook via an iCal feed).
- **Ground content in real research** — characters use **live web search (Tavily)** with
include/exclude domain lists, a topic type, and a time-range filter, so articles reflect current
events instead of stale training data.
- **Generate images** — a full **Image Studio** built on OpenAI's **GPT Image** models:
text-to-image, attach-an-image editing, use-as-reference for consistent follow-ups, size/quality/
format/background controls, prompt building, compression, and save-to-Media-Library.
Articles get a featured image plus secondary in-body images automatically.
- **Add fact-checking, corrections, and quizzes** — an AI fact-check pass can append a
fact-checking comment to an article, a **corrections pass** can follow up with a correction
comment when the fact-check surfaces issues, and articles can include interactive quizzes with a
leaderboard.
- **Build chat widgets** — both ready-made and custom "narrow AI" widgets (general chat, character
chat, Top Ten, Image Studio, and more), each with its own instructions, model, streaming, and
structured-output settings.
- **Choose the model per character/widget** — **OpenAI and Anthropic Claude** are both available,
orchestrated through LangChain, with streaming responses.
- **Chat and convert** — a general-purpose chat that can search current events, generate images,
save conversations to the CMS, and publish.
The provisioned WordPress site ships with the **tsai-plugin**, which exposes shortcodes to embed
Scike widgets anywhere on the site:
- `[tsai_sas]` — a **Sales & Support** chat widget (an AI rep that answers visitor questions)
- `[tsai_banner]` — a banner/affiliates widget
- `[tsai_player]` — the player app (browse characters and widgets)
The Studio is **multilingual** (English, Spanish, French).
**In one sentence:** *Scike turns a single checkout into a live website plus a studio where AI
characters research, write, illustrate, and publish for you — and answer your visitors.*
---
## 2. Pricing reality (why pricing is "hybrid")
Scike runs on paid third-party APIs that bill by usage:
- **OpenAI** — chat completions and GPT Image generation
- **Anthropic Claude** — chat/article generation
- **Tavily** — live web search used for research and fact-checking
That means cost scales with how much the customer **publishes and chats**, not just with time.
So pricing is a **hybrid**: a **flat monthly platform fee** (hosting, the Studio, provisioning,
support, base features) **plus metered AI usage** drawn from an included monthly allowance, with
pay-as-you-go overage. See the Pricing page (`pages/pricing.html`) and the Scike product
(`pages/product-scike.html`) for the full model and the three plan variations
(Starter / Pro / Publisher); the variation prices themselves live in the skill's `manifest.json`.
That candor is backed by a real artifact: the Studio ships a **Usage & Cost** dashboard that meters
every interactive and scheduled AI call (studios, chat, quiz, characters, research), breaking spend
down by day, operation, and model over a selectable window, with **CSV export** for external
billing/reconciliation. Lean on it as proof when writing the pricing/transparency copy.
---
## 3. Audience
Primary buyers, in priority order:
1. **Solo publishers / niche-site creators** — want a content site that fills itself (the guitar /
news style sites Scike already runs are the proof point).
2. **Affiliate & content marketers** — want volume, scheduling, and an embeddable sales widget.
3. **Small businesses** — want a simple site plus an always-on AI sales/support chat.
4. **Hobbyists & experimenters** — want to play with AI characters, images, and widgets cheaply.
They are **not** developers by default. Copy must lead with outcomes ("a site that publishes
itself"), not architecture ("multi-tenant FastAPI + JSON:API").
---
## 4. Positioning & message hierarchy
**Category:** AI-native publishing platform (site + studio + AI authors), delivered as SaaS.
**One-liner (hero):**
> Your website, your AI writers, and your image studio — live in minutes.
**Supporting promise:**
> Scike provisions a real WordPress site and a creative studio, then lets a team of AI characters
> research, write, illustrate, and publish on a schedule — while an AI rep handles your visitors.
**Three pillars (used across home, features, pricing):**
1. **It builds itself.** One checkout → a live site and studio, SSL and all. No setup.
2. **It writes itself.** AI characters publish researched, illustrated, fact-checked (and
corrected) articles on a schedule — and reply to your readers. Additive note: this is the
default, not a cage — the owner is free to write their own posts and join the comments directly,
so a site can be fully automated, hands-on, or any blend.
3. **It pays for what it uses.** Flat platform fee plus metered AI, so a quiet month is a cheap
month.
**Tone of voice:** confident, plain-spoken, a little playful. Short sentences. Concrete nouns
("characters," "articles," "the Studio"), not jargon. We are honest about AI costs — that candor
is a selling point against competitors who hide usage fees.
**Proof points to weave in:** real running publications (e.g. niche guitar and news sites),
live web research + fact-checking (not "hallucinated" content), choice of OpenAI *and* Claude.

## 5. Information architecture (sitemap)
Each page's copy is the `pages/…` HTML body in the store-ia skill; the alias is its URL.

### Primary navigation (header)
`Features ▾` · `Pricing` · `How It Works` · `About` · `Support` · **`Get Started`** (button → Pricing/cart)
The `Features ▾` dropdown lists the four deep-dive pages.
### Footer navigation
- **Product:** Features, Pricing, How It Works, Get Started
- **Company:** About, Contact, Support
- **Legal:** Terms, Privacy, Acceptable Use
- **Account:** Log in, My Sites (`/user/provisioning`)
### Drupal mapping notes
- Home, Features (×5), How It Works, About, Support, Contact, and the three Legal pages are
**Basic pages** (or a custom "Landing page" content type) in Drupal.
- The plan is a **Commerce product** with three **product variations** (Starter / Pro / Publisher),
each tied to the **monthly billing schedule** and a **license** that triggers provisioning.
Product copy is in `pages/product-scike.html`; the variation prices are in the skill's
`manifest.json`.
- The post-purchase status page already exists at **`/user/provisioning`** ("My Sites").

## 6. Global elements & conventions
- **Product name:** *Scike* (the platform/product). **Company name:** *Scike Media*. **Domain:**
scike.ai. (Internal/legacy code may say "TSAI" or "VibeChat"; never surface those names publicly.)
- **The Studio** = the Creator app at `chat-{slug}.scike.ai`. Always call it "the Studio" in copy.
- **Characters** = the AI authors. Keep this word consistent; it's a core brand concept.
- **Primary CTA label:** "Get Started" (→ pricing/cart). **Secondary CTA:** "See Pricing" or
"See How It Works."
- **Support contact:** support@scike.ai. **Sales/general:** john@scike.ai (from infra) — confirm
before publishing.
- Every marketing page should end with a CTA band (headline + button) unless noted.

## 7. Open questions for the owner (confirm before publishing)
1. **Plan prices and included AI allowances** in `pages/pricing.html` / `pages/product-scike.html`
(and the prices in the skill's `manifest.json`) are *proposed placeholders*. Confirm the real
numbers and your target margin on AI overage.
2. ~~**How overage is metered/billed**~~ **RESOLVED (2026-07-20):** included monthly credit
allowance per plan (Starter 10 / Pro 40 / Publisher 120), then metered overage in Scike Credits
(1 credit = $1). Overage is billed as **opt-in auto-recharge** — off-session top-ups in a
customer-chosen increment (default $20) against the card saved at checkout, up to an optional
**monthly cap**; if auto-recharge is off (or the cap is hit), gated generation (articles, images,
research) **hard-pauses** until the allowance resets. Implemented by the `scike_credits` store
module + the API `credits_guard`; not Stripe's native metered billing (we charge PaymentIntents
directly). Enabled on the scike prod store 2026-07-20; the only remaining go-live step is wiring
the **live** Stripe gateway keys.
3. **Public contact details** — confirm support@scike.ai and the company address/phone for Contact.
4. **Free trial?** — none is assumed. Decide whether to offer a trial or a money-back window.
5. **Company backstory** in `pages/about.html` is a reasonable draft — replace with the real story.
