"Horror on the street" says the Daily Mirror as it features witnesses describing the "carnage" after seven people were seriously injured in the incident. A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, the paper reports.  The Independent follows with police pictured scouring the scene in Derby. The paper reports counter-terrorism officers are assisting with investigations, but Derbyshire Police says this does not mean the incident is being treated as terrorism.  The Times shifts its focus to growing fears over fuel shortages due to the war in the Middle East. It reports that Sir Keir Starmer will hold talks with UK fuel bosses on Monday as the government draws up contingency plans to cope with the shortage of jet fuel and diesel that is expected in the coming weeks. Alongside, a miniature donkey was the "mane event" in a Palm Sunday procession to mark the start of Holy Week.  It's going to be a "bad Friday" for motorists travelling for Easter getaways as fuel supplies continue to dwindle, says the Daily Star.  The Daily Express says Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch is vowing to scrap VAT on energy bills to save consumers £200 a year to tackle rising costs. The party said its proposals would be funded by scrapping a number of renewable energy schemes and green levies. The government has already announced that from April some levies will be scrapped or funded from general taxation, leading to a fall in energy costs.  UK families are also racing to beat rising fuel prices by installing solar panels, the Metro says, with sales up 62% this month.  Staying with the war in Iran, the Guardian leads its front page with pictures of three children who died in the bombing of a school in the city of Minab on the first day of the war. The report features voices from four Iranian families caught up in the tragedy as they describe their experiences of the attack on 28 February. The Holy Week period running up to Easter is generally a subdued affair even if you are not on a Lenten fast. Even Hong Kong’s financial markets close for Good Friday. But this year it is more than just a wind down in business activity that is making us gloomy. We are entering the fifth week of a Middle East conflict with no sign of a negotiated truce, the Trump administration threatening an escalation while extending the pause on attacks on energy infrastructure to beyond this week, on April 6. Meanwhile, the war’s effects ripple further, as Asian and European governments suspend regulatory measures, alter tax regimes and impose export bans in an attempt to curb the impact of higher energy prices. Happy Easter, everyone. There will be some political news that is not directly related to war. Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is holding court, first hosting Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto then French head of state Emmanuel Macron. The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority is due to present its approach on the £11bn motor finance redress shortly after the markets close on Monday afternoon. The regulator has been consulting on an industry-wide compensation scheme for motor finance customers who were treated unfairly, but the banks and claims specialists are not happy. They are preparing to launch legal challenges, threatening to further prolong a saga that has already spanned five years, as my colleagues [have reported](https://www.ft.com/content/328bda7e-ae89-454f-a53b-c8e974a32a99?syn-25a6b1a6=1).
