## The most important global events likely to affect FX and bond markets in the week starting March 30

U.S. jobs data in the week ahead will provide a snapshot of the health of the country’s jobs market. Getty Images

U.S. jobs data and eurozone provisional inflation figures for March will attract attention in the coming week as data begins to give a picture of how the war in the Middle East, and particularly the surge in energy prices, has affected economies.

In Asia, markets will watch the [Bank of Japan’s](/market-data/quotes/JP/XTKS/8301) policy summary and price data from Tokyo, as well as purchasing manufacturers’ surveys across China and minutes from Australia’s central bank.

​Investors’ main focus will ​remain on developments in the Middle East to see whether a resolution to the war looks possible.

“What will matter most of all to markets is news on the Iran conflict; macro data will at best play second fiddle,” said [Investec](/market-data/quotes/ZA/XJSE/INL) economist Sandra Horsfield in a note.
